In the Industrial Pharmacy 1 Notes Pdfs, the following chapters are explained in detail.

UNIT-1

The Study of Preformulation: Introduction The purpose of the study is to establish research objectives, & objectives that investigate the physical & chemical effects of drugs.

A. Physical properties: (crystal or Amorphous) & their size, shape, & flow properties, as well as the solubility profile (pKa pH, Phosphorus pH) & partition coefficient) & polymorphism.

B. Chemical Properties: Racemization of hydrolysis as well as reduction, oxidation, as well as polymerization.

BCS classifies drugs as well as their importance.

Preformulation concepts should be taken into consideration when designing oral liquid, dosage, or solid formulations for use in the parenteral system as they affect their stability as well as the quality of the formulation of dosage forms.

UNIT-2

Tablets:

A. Introduction, the top properties of tablets as well as their categorization. Excipients, tablets’ formulation, & methods of granulation to compress & process issues. Tablet tools & equipment.

B. Tablet coating: Different types of coating materials & formulations that are appropriate for coating methods, equipment, coating, as well as the presence of imperfections on the surface of the coating.

C. Quality testing in-process & final product testing.

Liquid orals: The formulation process & Evaluation of suspensions, syrups, & syrups as well as Emulsions. Evaluations of the packaging & filling of liquid orals which are included in the Pharmacopeia.

UNIT-3

Capsules:

A. Gelatin capsules hard: A brief overview of the process of making capsules made of gelatin hard. The size of the capsules, their filling, & finishing, & different methods of making capsules made from hard gelatin that are imperfect in their manufacturing. Quality assurance in the final product, as well as tests during the process to test capsules.

B. Capsules made of soft gelatin: Shells have specific characteristics of capsules, shells, & size of the capsules as well as the importance of the base adsorption as well as the minimal/gram variables in manufacturing, during-process, & final tests to determine the quality. Storage packaging & stability tests of capsules made from soft gelatin & also their use.

Pellets: Introduction to Pellets, specifications for the formulation, Palletization process, the equipment used to make pellets

UNIT-4

Parenteral Products:

A. Types, definitions, drawbacks, & benefits. Preformulation elements & the most important specifications, additives, vehicle, and the importance of isotonicity.

B. Production procedure, production facilities, controls, aseptic processing. Formulation of injections, sterile powders, large volume parenteral, & lyophilized products.

C. The formula of injectables that sterilizes the powder’s enormous volumes of parenteral as well as lyophilized items.

D. The selection of containers & closures along with sealing & filling ampoules vials & infusion fluids. Testing for quality control of parenteral products.

Ophthalmic preparations: Introduction, formulation, & formulation issues making eye drop Ointments & eye creams. Methods of preparation containers; marking them & evaluation of the ophthalmic formulas.

UNIT-5

Cosmetics: The preparation & preparation of items such as shampoos, lipsticks, & lipsticks. creams hair dyes & vanishing coloring toothpaste for hair with cream sunblock, sunblock.

Pharmaceutical Aerosols: definition of propellant containers, valves, & different types of aerosol systems made from the process of formulation & the production of aerosols; evaluation of the aerosols that are used in Quality Control & stability tests.

The Materials of Packaging Science: are the materials that are used to package pharmaceutical products. The factors that affect the selection of containers along with the guidelines for packaging, the properties of the packaging materials, & tests to verify the quality of the product.
