Overview
In the notes of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry 2, we have given two types of notes namely Handwritten notes and Standard notes.
The primary objective for Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry 2 notes is to equip students with an understanding of how secondary metabolites are produced in the form of the drug and the methods to detect and separate them to make these industrially. Additionally, the course focuses on the process of making phytochemicals and plants through the cultivation of tissues and drug interactions as well as the fundamental principles of traditional medicine.

Phenylpropanoids & Flavonoids: Lignans, Rutta, Tea,
Steroids Cardiac Glycosides and Triterpenoids: Digitalis, Liquor ice Dios Corea.
Volatile oils: Clove, Mentha, Cinnamon Fennel, Coriander.
Tannins: Pterocarpus, Catechu.
Resins: Guggul, Benzoin, Ginger, Asafetida, Myrrh, Colophony.
Glycosides: Aloes, Senna, Bitter Almond.
Iridoids, Additional Terpenoids as well Naphthoquinones: Artemisia, Gentian, Taxus, carotenoids
UNIT-3
Isolation of the Phytoconstituents, Identification, & Analysis of the constituents of the phytoconstituents
a) Terpenoids: Menthol, Citral, Artemisinin
b) Glycosides Glycyrhetinic acid, & Rutin
c) Alkaloids: Atropine, Quinine, Reserpine, Caffeine
d) Resins: Podophyllotoxin, Curcumin
UNIT-4
Estimates of industrial production use, production, & utilization of the phytonutrients Forskolin, Sennoside, Artemisinin, Diosgenin, Digoxin, Atropine, Podophyllotoxin, Caffeine, Taxol, Vincristine, & Vinblastine.
UNIT-5
The foundations of Physical Chemistry
Innovative methods to extract, making use of cutting-edge methods like Spectroscopy Chromatography, Spectroscopy, & electrophoresis to aid in the separation of, purification, & identification of crude compounds.
