Dear visitors, in this post I have shared an overview and download links of notes on Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics (BP604T) according to the PCI syllabus for B Pharm 6th Semester 2023.
Overview
In the notes of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, we have given two types of notes namely Handwritten notes and Standard notes.
Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics notes are intended to teach the knowledge and skills of Biopharmaceutics as well as pharmacokinetics, their application in the development of pharmaceuticals designing doses and dosage regimens, and in resolving problems that arise.
Friends Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics is the subject of the 6th semester of the B Pharm course, and as per the syllabus copy of PCI B Pharm 6th semester, there are a total of 5 units in this subject.

A Brief Introductory Biopharmaceutics for Absorption:
Mechanisms for absorption of drugs by GIT & the aspects that influence how drugs are absorbed through GIT & absorption of drugs through extra-vascular routes that are not per-oral. Permeability of the distribution tissue of drugs, the binding of drugs & the apparent absorption, the amount of drug distribution through tissues & plasma, the effects of drug binding, & numerous factors that influence drug binding to protein. UNIT-2
Elimination:
Understanding of the process of metabolism of drugs & the fundamental metabolic pathways to drug excretion through the kidneys the influences on the elimination of drugs through the kidney & the renal clearance, non-renal methods of drug excretion
The Bioavailability Theory & the Bioequivalence:
Principle Definitions & Objectives of Bioavailability in absolute & relative bioavailability measurement of bioavailability using in vitro dissolution models & in-vitro in-vivo studies on bioequivalence & ways to improve bioavailability & dissolution rates of medications that aren’t insoluble.
UNIT-3
Pharmacokinetics:
Introduction to the Pharmacokinetics Model is the Compartment Model, which is a non-compartment model of the physiological functions of models. Open model for one area. (a). Intravenous injection (Bolus) (b). Intravenous Infusions or (c) injectables that are not intravascular. Pharmacokinetics parameters include KE, t1/2, AUC, Vd KE Definitions & CLR Methods of elimination of their significance & their use
UNIT-4
Multicompartment model:
Open Model that has 2 compartments. IV bolus Kinetics for multiple doses steady-state levels of drug determination of loading & maintenance doses & their significance in clinical settings.
UNIT-5
Nonlinear Pharmacokinetics:
A. Introduction
B. The causes of non-linearity.
C. Michaelis-Menton method of estimating parameters. Explanation using an example of a drug.
