UNIT-1: Preformulation Studies

  • Chemical Properties: Hydrolysis, oxidation, reduction, racemization, and polymerization.
  • BCS Classification and its importance.
  • Application: Using preformulation data in developing liquid, solid, and parenteral dosage forms.

UNIT-2: Tablets & Liquid Orals

  • Tablets:

    • Compression, processing issues, tooling, and equipment.

UNIT-3: Capsules & Pellets

  • Soft Gelatin Capsules:
    • Shell formulation, content, and manufacturing processes.
    • QC tests, storage, and stability.
  • Pellets: Introduction, formulation, and palletization processes/equipment.

UNIT-4: Parenteral Products & Ophthalmic Preparations

  • Parenteral Products:
    • Definitions, types, advantages, and disadvantages.
    • Formulation: Preformulation, vehicles, additives, and isotonicity.
    • Production: Facilities, aseptic processing, and controls.
    • Formulation of injections, sterile powders, Large Volume Parenterals (LVP), and lyophilized products.

  • Ophthalmic Preparations:
